Brown Leather Headboards
The master bedroom is for the heads of the household. This is the bedroom more than any other where a strong look is appealing. This is a room for adults and while this does not mean there cannot be frills, the overall look should not be either so feminine as to make the male occupant feel left out or without enough comfort to let both partners get some well deserved rest.
One solution to the age-old question of what kind of headboard to have is to try a brown leather headboard. This is a stylish and romantic piece of furniture that can be fun to have, and other pieces in the bedroom might be given another look after it makes an appearance.
Chances are good you would not have to change much since a brown leather headboard can go with a variety of styles or themes. While it might be hard to find a real antique leather headboard in good condition, there are many being made to look aged or to look like older styles. You would not want to plop a reproduction or a themed piece of furniture next to the real thing usually, but with a headboard you might very well be able to pull it off.
A Victorian style bed with a new brown leather headboard might have just a fresh enough appeal to work. In the middle of a sleek, modern looking room, a deep brown leather panel headboard would go well. This would also be suitable if you were going with the heavier 1940s and 1950s style of very heavy, serviceable yet boldly attractive furnishings. A brown leather headboard would also look good with English, French Country or American Southwestern themes.
Brown leather color does not have to be a problem if a little attention is paid ahead of time. If the room is becoming too heavy in dark colors then a quick save can be the lighter brown leather headboard. You will want to go just a few hues down from the rest of the color in the room so as not to be too jarring, but because of the size and shape of a large headboard, this piece has the effect of being able to carry the room into a lighter mood. Likewise, if the mood needs to be darker, a browner hue can be the choice. This will be part of the color for the bed over all, but the bed covering, pillows and shams can also be used to capture and bring out the rest of the color and style of the room.
Resist the impulse to match the brown leather headboard and instead look to the carpet and drapes for inspiration on what shades the sheets and pillowcases should be. Otherwise the bed will take on a monotonous look. It is better not to use heavy bed draperies as this might look a little too dramatic.
